Supervision

Do you need a supervisor?

I am a qualified Supervisor, working with student counsellors and qualified counsellors/psychotherapists, in both individual and group sessions.

“Supervision is a special, contractual multi-faceted relationship between 2 people (or more) which exists for the explicit purpose of providing a supportive forum for both training and control of the work of the supervisee by the supervisor” – Clarkson

I believe that developing an ethical and trusting relationship is the key when working with supervisees, which is why I offer a welcoming and supportive safe space for you to reflect on yourself and your work with clients. I will guide not criticise, so you are safe to be open and say anything you want without the fear of judgement or shame.

Our relationship will be one that challenges so you grow as a counsellor/psychotherapist and develop your practice in a professional and ethical way.

Whether you’re a student in placement or a qualified counsellor/psychotherapist, I will use my knowledge and experience to focus on your clients’ welfare as well as your development as a counsellor. I use both a process model and a development model of supervision (Seven-Eyed Model, Hawkins and Shohet & Integrative Development Model, Stoltenberg and McNeill)

I am a BACP accredited counsellor, trained in Person-Centred Humanistic therapy, although I also work with other models.

I work with individuals or groups, face to face or online.
